It's Sunday and I am carefully watching the visitor count at the very bottom of this page. I am going to try to be your quarter billionth visitor!

It was 2:16 AM in NJ when I was on - and so were 614 others. It finally shook that feeling that was keeping me awake. The feeling of being alone.

I live in Tennessee, so I have taken countless childhood field trips to the falls. Now that I look back on it, a giant underground waterfall probably ISN'T the safest environment for children. :)

One of my fondest childhood memories was a trip to Chattanooga with my family when I was eight. I was so shy back then, but the friendly tour guides at Ruby Falls were so nice to me and seemed to enjoy talking to everyone that they inspired me to break out of my shell. When I got home from the trip I made my very first friends at school. Thanks for that.

I am thrilled to present the cover for the new PostSecret book which has more than 250 never-before-seen secrets.
Pre-order your copy today. (Thanks for supporting PostSecret.)
If you've mailed a secret to me and haven't seen it posted, you may find it in this book.

Who the hell are you? I read your profile and I still dont [sic] know who you are. After reading it, I care even less. Nice job trying to catch a piece of the Martin Sargent wave - the only reason I found this crappy blog is because I have a Google alert set to Martin's name. Go ahead and blame him for being a "whiner" while you write blogs with his name in them to draw attention to yourself. The guy is an entertainer. Get over yourself loser.
The part I love most is "Anonymous said 'Who the hell are you?'" Quick, someone put on Alanis Morisette's "Ironic" before I stop laughing!!
And really dude? A Martin Sargent Google alert? Get a hobby. ;) And don't be telling people what they can and can't blog about. It's the Internet, and you are not one of its police force. Dropping Martin Sargent's name into a blog post isn't going to generate traffic for said blog, except from people who need to get hobbies. Martin Sargent.
Seriously, this whole MG/MS blowup is shining a bright light on how Un-Social Social Media really is. Martin Sargent.
I've been refraining from weighing in on the whole Martin Sargent thing publicly, because I really do like Martin-- I've been a fan since the TechTV days. I actually feel a little bad for him, because looking at this debacle from the perspective of someone who has (and will continue) to cast and hire people for video work, because of the way his fans have been acting I'm betting a lot of producers will be hesitant to even audition him for fear of backlash if he doesn't get the gig.
Oh well, what can you do except drop Martin Sargent into the post a few more times to be sure that Google Alert trips?
me
Martin Sargent. Martin Sargent.
ETA: Also, the comment is even funnier if you read it in Chris Crocker voice.... "LEAVE MARTIN ALONE!!"

Ladies, you’re going to have to excuse me again today. I’ll make up for it tomorrow. I’m going out to a friend’s party tonight. And so looking forward to it too. The only damper being that I can’t drink, ‘cause it’s out of town and I have to drive. But did I mention I get to drive my MILs SLK. If you don’t understand Car & Driver look at this. Now you know what I mean. I’m so looking forward to driving that baby, and yes I live in Germany where the autobahns have no speed limit and I drive like a Cullen.
Life is still great. Have a fun weekend and choose happy.

We made sure that speech would be as accessible to as many Africans as possible on the radio, TV, and by SMS. These are the speech excerpts that we sent out to thousands of SMS subscribers in Africa and around the world.
- It is an honor for me to be in Accra & to speak to the representatives of the people of Ghana. I am proud that this is my first visit to sub-Saharan Africa as President of the US.
- The 21st century will be shaped by what happens not just in Rome or Moscow or Washington, but by what happens in Accra as well.
- I will focus on four areas that are critical to the future of Africa and the entire developing world: democracy; opportunity; health; and the peaceful resolution of conflict.
- Governments that respect the will of their own people are more prosperous, more stable, and more successful than governments that do not.
- With better governance, I have no doubt that Africa holds the promise of a broader base for prosperity.
- People must make responsible choices that prevent the spread of disease… promoting public health in their communities and countries.
- America will support these efforts through a comprehensive, global health strategy.
- Africa’s diversity should be a source of strength, not a cause for division
- We must stand up to inhumanity in our midst. It is never justifiable to target innocents in the name of ideology.
- I am speaking to the young people. You have the power to hold your leaders accountable, and to build institutions that serve the people.
- I can promise you this: America will be with you. As a partner. As a friend. Freedom is your inheritance. Now, it is your responsibility to build upon freedom’s foundation.

It’s 5:35 am and I haven’t been to bed yet. Damien is at my parents for the weekend and I’m off work today for the first time in 12 days. Being on the late shift for the best part of the last two weeks, my internal clock is still tuned to night shift mode. However I have passed the moment where I should have gone to bed and am now wound up. Oh well, at least I don’t have to feel bad about it, ‘cause I don’t plan on getting out of bed till the evening. Ah, life is beautiful :-) Have I mentioned that Chris is off too? Right now he is downstairs sleeping (and sobering up a bit too as he went out with some guys from work last night). I hope he is nice ‘n rested soon, ‘cause this goddess is going to be worshipped today O:-)
Which brings me to the next thing I wanted to share – I just had an idea for a novel. I have already been sketching some character mind maps for a couple weeks now, wanting to try to write something, and this evening the pieces just fell into place. Now I have a nice story outline in my sketch book and plan to start writing a chapter whenever I have some free time and feel like it. I used to write a bit when I was in school and enjoyed it. These last couple of weeks I spent parts of the evening reading Twilight fan fiction and some of those stories are really good. Guess it encouraged me to give it a try again too. As soon I have some material ready, I’ll post it on a separate blog and let you know, in case you’re interested.
Life is great. Have a fun weekend and choose happy.

So a few weeks ago, we went to Origins (gaming convention) and went through their artists room.
In there we met some great artists that I really like their work and I wanted to pimp them out to folks.
Fantasy Art Nouveau
Echo Chrenik
Pin-up style artwork
Bawidamann.com
Not a fan of the style, but I like the subject matter and what she's done with some of them. One here that is definitely NSFW.
Shaman Soul Studios
and one that was not at Origins but one of my personal favorite artists (but I'm biased)
Son of Pan Studios

On de internets nobody noes yur lookin for lunch.

Tonight, President Obama arrives in Ghana in his first trip to sub-Saharan Africa as President of the United States. Over the past week, we have been collecting questions, comments and words of welcome for President Obama via SMS, Twitter, Facebook and from newspapers across Africa. We shared these responses with 3 journalists in Africa, Ms. Angela Quintal of Independent Newspapers in South Africa, Mr. Mamadou Thior of Radio Television Senegal (RTS) and Mr. Peter Kimani of The Standard in Kenya. These journalists, in turn, picked a few of the questions for the President to answer. We'll post a video and audio recording of those answers on Monday.
Tomorrow at 8:40 AM EDT the President will address the Ghanaian Parliament -- you can listen live at WhiteHouse.gov/live. We'll also post the transcript and the audio of the speech soon after on our site, and get video up in the coming days.
In the meantime, we thought we'd share an interactive map which samples some of the questions.
